With so many courses out there, finding the right yoga teacher training for you can be a challenging task.
Below are a list of questions that students often ask before joining our courses.
If you are new to teaching yoga we would recommend that you consider the British Wheel of Yoga teacher training course or the Yoga Alliance 200hr training. These trainings offer a structured transition, allowing you to evolve your current knowledge and become confident in your teaching.
The Yoga Alliance 500hr training is designed for teachers with some teaching experience, looking to increase your understanding and teaching repertoire.
We pride ourselves on having a clear and accessible pricing structure. You will need to contact us for this information, as we like to have the interaction with potential students. We find that this helps us better understand and respond to your needs.
To secure your place you will need to pay a deposit.
It is also possible to spread the payments over the duration of the course.
It is difficult to put a quantitative measure to something that is more of a quality of character and experience.
As a rough guide we would recommend that students have two or more years experience attending regular classes, as well as maintaining regular self practice.
In the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Bhagavad Gita and certainly in the Upanishads, Yoga is represented as any path that allows the union between the atman (individual soul) and Brahman (the universal being) to happen.

We aim to respond to all applications within a week, and will either ask you to clarify certain points over the telephone, offer you an interview with one of the course tutors, offer you a place on the course or recommend that you re-apply to attend the course once you have gained more relevant experience.
Once you have received an offer of a place on the course, you can secure your place by putting down a deposit.
We aim to fill our courses with 15 - 20 students as we have found that this creates a good balance of teacher attention as well as a good group energy, providing the best learning environment.
This depends on which course you take. We recommend that all students take a 1st Aid qualification. These normally cost from £70.
British Wheel of Yoga Students must be a student teacher member with the British Wheel of Yoga. Currently this cost £60 yearly.
British Wheel of Yoga teacher training students are covered under the British Wheel of Yoga student teacher membership, so long as you live in the UK or Ireland, and subject to the terms of the policy, provided at the start of the course.
Yoga Alliance 200hr students cannot get insurance cover to teach until course completion. In this instance, we recommend that students practice with fellow students, as well as family and friends under the explicit understanding of the students apprenticeship status.
Yoga Alliance 500hr students should already have teacher training insurance based on their previous qualifications.
If you miss a course day or weekend, we require that you complete some additional homework to demonstrate that you understand the course content missed. In addition to this you will need to ensure that you have completed the relevant number of contact hours with our course tutors.
Where possible we will allow you to sit the relevant modules on an alternative teacher training course. This may delay your graduation date, and is subject to available space in future course.
Alternatively, you can attend extra classes or even arrange a private one-one session with the course tutors to ensure you catch up on the course hours and material. This is subject to additional cost.
Yes, the Yoga Alliance are a US organisation and their teachers are registered all over the world. You can look at their website to see if they have registered teachers working in the country you are interested in teaching at.
The BWY are also recognised across Europe, and other countries beyond! Students on our BWY course can also attain a Yoga Alliance certificate.
We like to think that our teacher training is great value in itself. However we also value and recognise the commitment our students make in choosing to study we us.
Teacher trainees get 10% discount on any purchases through the Teach Yoga website in addition to the 1 years graduate membership with Teach Yoga after successful completion of the course.
If due to illness or other exceptional circumstances you cannot complete the teacher training, it is possible to transfer to a future course. You are still required to pay any remaining course fees as detailed in your credit agreement.
We highly recommend that students do what they can to attend and complete the course. Transferring to a new teacher training is possible if space is available and is subject to a course transfer fee payable at the time of joining the new course.
Final assessments entail teaching a yoga class under observation. While this can be a little bit daunting, we recommend that students approach it as a great opportunity.
Once you start teaching properly, you will really value the opportunity to receive detailed and concise constructive feedback as to what you do well and elements you could improve in your teaching.
If you do not pass your assessment first time, there will be opportunities to retake the assessment subject to a £75 re-assessment fee.
If you do not pass your final assessment we recommend you maintain regular contact with course tutors and keep practicing your teaching working on the elements discussed in your assessment.
Once you feel ready to re-assess we will offer you a slot at the next available assessment date.
