Aims

The aim of the course is to give our students basic knowledge and confidence to teach and further their practice of Hatha Yoga. There will be a strong emphasis in our approach to alignment. All aspects of teaching and learning, with the emphasis on acquiring practical teaching skills - will be covered. The theoretical section of the course will include Anatomy and Physiology as relevant to the understanding of Hatha Yoga. In addition there will be an in- depth look at yoga philosophy, with short studies on the Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and ethics for Yogis will be covered.

Another part of the course is the Electives where each student carries out independent research on an area of personal interest, deepening their understanding of certain aspects of Yoga (e.g. Yoga and Pilates , Yoga and Ayurveda, Yoga for children, massage, pregnancy, older people, sports, office, etc.) which are more fully covered in the 500 hour course.
